Building Tomorrow’s Workforce: Luling EDC Drives Career Pathways and Regional Partnerships

20 Oct 2026

At the Luling Economic Development Corporation (LEDC), strengthening our local economy goes hand in hand with investing in our home-grown talent. By equipping youth and job seekers with the tools, training, and direct access to employers, we are building a resilient talent pipeline that supports existing local industries while attracting new commercial investment to Caldwell County.

Boys & Girls Club Career Pathways Program

To ensure early career exploration for local students, the LEDC is proud to fund the Boys & Girls Club Career Pathways Program.

This initiative introduces young people to viable career options, trade fields, and professional opportunities right here in our region. Through structured mentorship, skill-building modules, and workplace exposure, the program helps students connect classroom learning with real-world applications, inspiring the next generation of Luling’s workforce.

CTE-Focused Job Fairs: Connecting Students to Local Industry

Bridging the gap between secondary education and local employment is a core objective for the EDC. Last school year, we spearheaded two targeted Career and Technical Education (CTE) job fairs designed to prepare Luling High School students for immediate and long-term career success.

Juniors Day

Exclusively tailored to local businesses, Juniors Day focused heavily on foundational soft skills. Students participated in workshops covering resume building, professional interview techniques, and workplace communication, giving local employers a direct look at Luling’s emerging talent pool.

Cruising Through Careers

This high-energy event brought students face-to-face with regional industries, vocational training providers, and corporate partners, allowing participants to explore diverse career tracks, apprenticeships, and post-graduation job opportunities.

Leading Regional Workforce Collaboration Across Central Texas

Economic growth does not stop at city limits. Recognizing the power of regional collaboration, the Luling EDC has taken the lead in organizing a series of regional job fairs in partnership with key economic development entities across the Hays and Caldwell County corridors.
